It is impossible to state in advance what precisely a case will cost.  Indeed, this depends on differing factors.  However, our office tries to be as transparent as possible before, during, and after a case. With us, you always know where you are. When a dossier is established, an agreement is established between you and our office. During the course of a case, we keep you continually informed and provide you with periodical service sheets.

Honoria and expenses are divided into three parts:

  • The court costs (procedural costs, possible experts, etc.)
  • The office costs (correspondence, travel, etc.)
  • The honorarium

The honorarium can be calculated in two ways:

  • in function of the value of the procedure and this according to a specific percentage ranging from 15% to 8 % per segment
  • per hour, whereby an hourly rate of a minimum of 125 € with time units of 12 minutes is charged – all this depends on the value of the procedure, the degree of difficulty, and so on.

The costs given above are only indicative and an average. It is important to know that everything is open for discussion and that, with us, you will never be confronted with an unpleasant surprise.  For certain “standard” cases, such as collection, a price may be able to be determined in advance.

If you have legal assistance insurance, the insurer can assume the honorarium and costs in whole or in part. Further, in Belgium, a new regulation went into effect established on 1 January 2008 for what is called the “procedural indemnity”.  This regulation requires the losing party to pay in part the costs of the attorney of the winning party. In Germany, the losing party must reimburse the largest part of the costs.

An initial orientation or introductory discussion at the offices costs 50 €. However, this charge is deducted upon the establishment of a dossier.
